Sadly we are aware of quite a few people being made redundant in recent weeks, but luckily for one certain individual this didn’t last for long, we spoke to her one day and the next afternoon we had found her a new job. So don’t worry there is always light at the end of the tunnel and if you find yourself or know of somebody in this position, the sooner we get the call the sooner we can help.
Although everybody thinks little happens this time of the year we still have vacancies coming in and candidates being offered jobs and indeed we have people starting work this month, so don’t forget to check out our latest vacancies.

Where has the last 11 months gone? This time last year the snow was causing us all chaos, grinding business, even bodyshops to a holt. Isn’t this just typical of England’s weather, you couldn’t get enough winter tyres last year, now a year later it’s too warm to fit them. Is this the ‘calm before the storm’?
Keep an eye on your inboxes as ‘Ingenia Company Newsletter’ will be coming out soon, so watch this space. Many of you will no doubt be making New Year resolutions and for many, finding a new job will be one of them. Like many things, changing job should be planned, so if you want a new position in January, you should be getting registered with us now. If you put it off until after the New Year then it could be February or March before you actually move. For more details on how to register call us on 0191 4155010.

Well here we are at the last month of the year, December! This time last year the snow was in full force and as the bodyshops are quiet now, I bet they are hoping the same for this year. It also won’t be long till everyone is putting back on the winter tyres.
Keep an eye out in your inboxes as ‘Ingenia Company Newsletter’ will be coming out soon, so watch this space. December is also the time you want to be handing in your notice if you want a new start for the New Year, so why not check out the latest vacancies.

A big thank you to all candidates who filled in our online survey, resulting in us finally getting this completed. We can now get to work analysing the results and once completed they will be made available.
As the weather gets colder, the signs are still positive in the office, as we are on average registering at least one new vacancy per day, so why not check out the latest vacancies we have at present.

Some of you might have realised that over the weekend our website got hacked which resulted in it being down for a few days. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and you will be glad to know its back to normal now. A big thank you to those with beady eyes out there that spotted this problem and alerted us.
The darks nights may seem to be a bit gloomy but on the brighter side we are registering some great vacancies, why not take a look or give us a call on 0191 4155010.

As Halloween approaches, so do the horror storeys. Sadly we are getting phone calls from people concerned about rumours at work with regards to possible redundancies. Should you find yourself in this situation or know anyone else who is affected, why not get them to call us before it’s too late. We may be able to get them into alternative employment straight away, as we have some great vacancies at the minute.
Ingenia have been able to help people in this situation before, so don’t let the time of year scare you off!

Over the years we have interviewed a few thousand candidates and subsequently come across hundreds who could benefit from interview and/or career development coaching. We can and would like to help but need to know if there would be enough demand if we were to offer coaching sessions on these subjects. If you feel that this could be of interest to you, if they were available, then please let us know.

Congratulations to Glen who last week achieved a milestone, having been in recruitment for only 20 months he has now placed his 100th candidate. This record would have been achieved weeks earlier if people who had been offered jobs had started.
Most of the holiday season seems to be behind us now and the last big month of the year is upon us. So good luck to all the dealerships and salesmen for a successful month.
09/08/2011 - Motor Trade job seekers prioritise career progression
The prospect of greater career progression opportunities has been found to be the main reason for switching jobs in the motor trade, a recent survey suggests.
The survey, commissioned by Ingenia Recruitment, specialists in motor trade recruitment, found that job seekers now prioritise career progression opportunities over other aspects, such as salary, company reputation and location.
“The recession has been tough on us all and the motor trade has certainly been no exception,” said Stephen Shaw, from Ingenia Recruitment.
“The industry is now picking up again and we are finding an increasing number of candidates seeking greater careers opportunities. As we move further away from the recession, it is clear that employees are now beginning to look to the future once again.
“It is therefore in the interests of recruiters in the industry to prove such opportunities to ensure they are attracting the greatest pool of candidates – all too often we have to remind recruiters of this when new job availabilities come in.”
02/08/2011 - Skills Shortage In Motor Trade
Ingenia Recruitment, leading recruitment consultants who specialise in the motor trade, have revealed key industry employment figures for the first time.
The figures show a significant drop in successful placements, despite encouraging vacancy opportunities.
“We don’t normally reveal such figures, but given the current state of the employment market we thought it was necessary,” Stephen Shaw from Ingenia Recruitment, commented.
“There’s a big skills shortage in the North East area; whenever well qualified candidates come to us, we can place them within days - there’s always a place for well qualified candidates. All too often, however, we find under qualified applicants that our clients just aren’t interested in.
“It comes down to the fact that apprentice intakes dropped off during the recession and have as of yet failed to recover. For the good of the industry, it’s time apprenticeships were reconsidered.”
