Now that the first long bank holiday weekend of the year is over and everyone is back to the grind, we hope you all had a good one and overdosed on Easter Eggs but don’t worry we are only working one full week until the next bank holiday.
You are here
Easter weekend is finally upon us and I am sure most of you are looking forward to an extra long weekend off (let’s hope it’s a sunny one), for those of you who have to work we do hope that it’s a busy time to make it all worthwhile. We hope you all have a fabulous weekend and don’t eat too many Easter Eggs.
It looks like March has been an excellent month for the new car market as 562,337 17-plate cars was registered, which is a 8.4% increase compared to March 2016. Quarter 1 has also been a record quarter with an increase of 6.2% compared to 2016. The new VED charges have come into power that means that every new car registered from the 1st April 2017 will now have to face a standard annual charge of £140 a year after the first year of ownership or £450 per year if your vehicle costs over £40,000.
Ingenia would like to thank everyone who has shared our new apprenticeship website but we would like everyone to keep sharing it with friends and family as we need as many young people as possible to be aware of it.
March has been a busy old month but the end is finally here, we hope you all have reached your targets for the month and earned yourselves a nice little bonus. While you have all been working hard in dealership, here in the office we have been ran off out feet having logged over 30 vacancies, so if you are looking for a change don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll do all we can to help. As most of you know we have also created new motor trade apprenticeship website (NEMTA), we would like to thank everyone who has shared the links but we can’t stress enough the importance of making sure as many young people see it as possible. Please keep sharing it as we have had very good response so far, thank you all again.
We would like to thank everyone who shared the new North East Motor Trade Apprenticeship website but we still need many, many more young people to be made aware of the opportunities that are available in the motor industry. Please could you share the following links with friends/family/contacts and thank you again.
Ingenia Recruitment has just launched their very own motor trade apprenticeship website, aimed at boys and girls aged 14+ who may consider a career in the retail motor industry. The website is aimed at young people in the North East of England and to show them the exciting career opportunities that the motor trade offers. If you know any young people either yourself or via friends and relatives then, send them the following link… www.northeastmotortradeapprenticeships.co.uk share it with as many people as you can as young people in schools get very little unbiased careers advice.
The Spring 2017 budget was announced today and unfortunately for the self employed the national insurance taxes will rise to 10% in April 2018 then 11% the following April, the chancellor said this would raise £145m a year by 2021-2022. The living wage is increasing to £7.50p.h. next month with the amount you can earn before paying income tax will go up to £11,500. Good news for drivers as there hasn’t been a rise in fuel duty but on the other hand remember that the new vehicle excise duty (VED) bands come into play from April. Although Steve is most upset about the alcohol duty!
The ‘17’ plate vehicles have arrived and we expect that today and for the next 30 days it will be manic in dealerships across the UK. We hope that March goes smoothly and everyone gets a very health commission. Not only has the new registrations came out but the new mobile phone law comes into power today, if you get caught on the phone whilst driving you will get 6 points on your licence as well as a £200 fine, so be careful and drive safely.
Steve has took his annual trip to the lakes for a few days but don’t panic people, Lorraine and Anna are still holding down the fort. So why not give us a call to log a vacancy with us or help you find a new job.
Today the European Commission has issued its final warning to the UK over pollution in big cities such as London. The Mayor of London is set to introduce a £10 daily ‘toxicity charge’ on diesel cars made before 2005 that travel in the central of London. New car prices have risen 5.2% since Britain voted to leave the EU, VED is going up in April 2017 and insurance premium tax is rising too. With pay increases we are seeing for productives it isn’t unimaginable that labour rates are set go up and unfortunately for us motorists it looks like it’ll be a costly year.
