95% Of Apprentices Remain Employed After Training Period
Data from the National Franchised Dealers Association shows that 95% of apprentices remain with the same company if they received a job offer after their training period.
A poll delivered by ‘Drive My Career’ shows that 95% of 16-24 year olds responded ‘yes’ to the following question: ‘after an apprenticeship, would you continue to work for the same company if they offered you the job?’.
47% of young people would choose an apprenticeship over a university degree course.
Around 40% said ‘earn while you learn’ is the most important part of an apprenticeship, 27% chose ‘understanding the work environment’ and 26% said ‘gaining early work experience’.
Sue Robinson, NFDA Director, added, “It is encouraging to see that a large percentage of young people see apprenticeships as an ideal route into their professional career. Our findings demonstrate the importance of investing in the workforce of the future.
“The automotive retail industry offers a wide range of rewarding, entry-level roles to those looking to start their professional career. Thanks to the support of its franchised dealer members, Drive My Career will continue to showcase how exciting a career in our sector can be”.
