Audi fined 800 million euros for diesel cheating

German Prosecutors have fined Audi 800 million euros (£704m) for violating diesel engine emission regulations.

 The fine is related to certain V6 and V8 diesel engines and cars made by Audi. It consists of the maximum penalty of ‘negligent regulatory offences’ and ‘disgorgement of economic benefits’.

 Audi said this would ‘directly affect’ its financial earnings, reducing is 2018 performance.
