MICK SCHUMACHER CONFIRMS TO JOIN FORMULA 2 GRID IN 2019

It has been confirmed that Mick Schumacher, FMI Formula 3 European Champion, will be joining the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2019 with Prema Racing.

After a fantastic year in F3, son of 7-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher will take a step up to joining the F2 grid.

During Mick’s 2018 season in F3, he won 8 races, captured 7 pole positions and had 14 podium finishes taking the title with Prema.

Being part of the Italian team since 2016, he will resume their relationship in F2 next year. Schumacher is excited to compete in F2 with Prema alongside for another year.

“A logical step on my sporting path in my view, because I want to further improve my technical experience and driving skills. For me, it was very clear to go into Formula 2 with Prema. I can’t thank the Prema family enough for what we achieved together as a team, especially this year, how we continued to develop together. I’m also really excited to drive the Formula 2 tests in Abu Dhabi.”

Prema’s team Principal, René Rosin, is proud to add Mick to his F2 roster next year, claiming that the he is an ‘extremely talented’ racer.
