MOT Tests Increase 86% in June
In June, there was over 2.6 million vehicles MOT tested, despite the Government’s six-month extension scheme which ended on July 31st.
A Freedom of Information Act request by Motorway.co.uk showed that MOT activity started to increase in June. After car showrooms re-opened, there has been 2,622,920 MOT tests completed. This was up 86% on May figures, but down on June 2019’s figures (3.31m tests).
Director of Motorway, Alex Buttle, said: “MOTs almost doubled in June vs May, and were up just under two million on April, the month after the grace period was announced. It’s clear that people have chosen safety over short-term savings, and the peace of mind of knowing that their car is safe, mechanically sound and in the best condition to protect its ongoing value.”
